The 2004 PPGCS Board of
Directors
In Memoriam

Dean Collins
1953 - 2005
It is with great sadness that
we share news of the recent passing Dean Collins and Edger
Lobit.
Dean Collins passed away quietly at his home
on the evening of February 2, 2005. He was a mentor, educator
and friend to many of us in the photographic industry. He
earned his Masters degree from the Professional Photographers
of America at age 26, and holds an honorary degree from
Brooks Institute of Photography.
Edgar Lobit of Guymon, OK, passed
away Monday, December 27, 2004, at BSA Hospital in Amarillo,
Texas. In his five decades as a professional photographer,
Ed served on the Board of Directors of Professional Photographers
of America (PPA), was President of the American Society
of Photographers, and was active in many state, local and
regional photography associations as well.

A message from the President
We started the year off with
a BANG, electing new board members that are excited about
helping PPGCS and the upcoming events that are planned for
this year. I'd like to thank everyone who has volunteered
his or her services this year. By having everyone contribute
a little, we will accomplish a lot.
Our members have already reaped
the benefits from their dues at the very first meeting.
When they attend the daylong seminar with Greg Stangl in
Denver on Feb. 13th, at the Marriott Denver South, 10345
Park Meadows Drive (303-925-0004). Registration starts at
8:30 AM and the program kicks off at 9:00 AM. His program
runs until 5:00 PM with a lunch break at noon. Then members
are welcome to stay for the Valentines Day Beach Party that
begins at 6PM and runs until 9PM. It should be a fun time
on Sunday.
Congratulations to the four $99
educational drawing winners and to Wilson Hitchings for
winning the $400 Imaging Workshop of Colorado drawing. It
just goes to show that being a PPGCS member can really pay.
Its going to be another great year!!
PPG's President,
Thomas J. Henn, PPA Certified, M.Photog

There are a lot of amazing people
in this organization. Some people we know well and others
we would like to get to know better. Member profiles accomplish
two things: First, it lets others know who you are, where
you have been, and where you are going. Second, it helps
the guild board members tailor speakers and lectures that
meet the needs of our diverse membership.
We would love to know you!
Send your profile today!
Attention:
New Board Members
Welcome
This year is going to be fun, fun, fun.
(Please send allison your current phone number so we can
reach you if necessary)
Quotable Quotes
Keep away from people who try to belittle
your ambitions.
Small people do that,
But really great people make you feel that you too,
Can become great.
A Positive attitude may not solve
all your problems,
but it will annoy enough people to make it worth while
Photography, as a powerful medium of expression and communications,
offers an infinite variety of perception, interpretation
and execution.
