A message from the President

The PPGCS group has once again been invited to show case their work through the Pikes Peak center. This is a great opportunity to show case your work to public in Colorado Springs as people and visitors come to the various performances in July and August. It will be the cheapest advertising you can do for the amount time your work will hang in the Pikes Peak Center.

So, to ensure your slot in the and wall space, make sure you get your $150 to Brian Molitoris ASAP. Because there's a limited amount of space and its disappearing.

This Month's Meeting

Eric Murphy

The Ten Step Web Site Design Program
From selecting a domain to going live and everything in between

Eric has always loved photography. Beginning with the obligatory Kodamatic 126 format camera some time in grade school. I was hooked. In high school I discovered computers. I was hooked. There was photography and there were computers, but the technology didn't yet exist to meld the two.

  They were worlds apart.

Then came 1988. And Photoshop. Photography and computer technology at last met, shook hands, and fell in love. I was hooked.

Photography and computers were made for each other. One has become an integral part of the other. They can no longer live apart.

Then came Two Doors Design & Photography. Photography influenced by technology. Computer technology involving photography.

  One house, two doors.

The door on the left: Wedding photography; Family, High School Senior, and Children's portraits. Commercial portraiture, Gallery submission and repro quality transparencies from 35mm to 4X5 inch, or digital.

The door on the right: Website design, hosting and marketing. Scanning of prints or film from 35mm to 8X10 inch. Digital film recording. Business card and logo design, marketing packages. Digital photography. Multimedia presentations.

Artistic Impressions Photography

By Kent and Sharon Stuck

Kent has long had an interest in photography, but it didn't become a passion until the mid-seventies with the purchase of his first 35mm camera.

His interest has been largely photojournalistic in approach, finding people in the walk and activities of life to be a fascinating source of photographic commentary. This interest has evolved into fine art and portraiture captured primarily in environmental settings.

The past fourteen years or more Kent has been active and growing as a professional through a couple of local photography groups including the Circle of Confusion and the Professional Photographers Guild of Colorado Springs. More recently, as he is pursuing his career in professional photography, he also has become a part of the Professional Photographers of Colorado, Rocky Mountain Professional Photographers and Professional Photographers of America. He has entered work in a number of print competitions both amateur and professional. Two of his images merited this past year at Professional Photographers of Colorado State convention and at the regional level of Rocky Mountain Professional Photographers convention. One image was awarded 2nd in the illustrative category at State and the other was awarded 3rd in the commercial category at Regional. Kent has exhibited works at the Phantom Canyon Brewery, UCCS, Sangre De Christo Fine Art Center and others. His work has been published several books and magazines. His commercial clients have included MCI World Com, Lockheed Martin, Newport Homes, and Ormao Dance Studio to name a few.

One of Kent's favorite subjects is photographing dance. He says, "One of the most fascinating and beautiful expressions in life is that of the human body moving with artistic grace and form. Communicating with the disciplined movements of the body the story contained within the soul. Capturing those precise moments when the body is at the apex of its expression is a source of continual challenge."

Kent and his wife Sharon, who has more recently become involved in photography, are developing a photography business primarily focusing on portraiture, High School Seniors, events, weddings and portfolios with more of a fine art flavor. They work with commercial, professional and industrial clients as well. They have just remodeled and opened their own studio behind the Pikes Peak Center in downtown Colorado Springs. Artistic Impressions Photography is finally coming of age and stepping into its own as a reputable business and professional. The Artistic Impressions Photography motto is "Capturing Life's Beautiful Moments". They want to do this in a way that serves the community and meets the needs and desires of their clients.

Much of their success they feel they owe to the other professional photographers and organizations such as the Professional Photographers Guild of Colorado Springs who have selflessly and generously mentored and helped them acquire the skills necessary to be successful in this business. Most of all they trust the Lord for their business and all that it will become. They hope that reflects in their lives and service to others.
