A message from the President
As I take a minute to reflect
on the Professional Photographers of Colorado Convention
this past month in Colorado Springs, we should be very proud
of this guild because it reflects the dedication our members
have towards improving themselves each year. And it clearly
shows by the number of awards they received at PPC. I again
want to say thank you to all that came and especially to
everyone that helped make this convention a success.
For the November 18th meeting
we will be doing a photo shoot starting at Meadow Muffins
2432 W Colorado Ave. in Colo. Springs. We will meet at 7:00
PM and the topic will be "Ghostly Creations".
You will have up to an hour and 30 minutes to create either
digital images for our slide show, and for the people that
participate, you can only turn in a max of 20 images for
the download. Now of course if youre shooting film,
you need to be a little more careful on what you photograph.
We want this to be a fun time and we will also meet back
at Meadow Muffins to have refreshments and talk about what
we did to create the images. It should be a fun time.
So what do you need to bring for
this photographic shoot? First, dress warm because it will
probably be cold. Bring extra batteries for your camera
in case the cold weather gets to the original set of batteries.
Keeping a spare set warm inside your coat or pocket, will
go a long way to getting those photographs you want. You
may want to either bring high speed film or crank up your
ISO on that digital camera to give you that extra shutter
speed you'll probably need. You may even want to bring a
cable release to use with your tripod that evening. If you
shoot digital, you may want to set the White Balance to
Tungsten, this will give you better colors for night shooting.
So mark you calendars for November
18th to have fun and do some night shooting. See you at
Meadow Muffins.

Thomas J. Henn, PPA Certified, M.Photog

Wanted: Member Profiles
Send profile and images to
Allisonearnest@yahoo.com
There are a lot of amazing people
in this organization. Some people we know well and others
we would like to get to know better. Member profiles accomplish
two things: First, it lets others know who you are, where
you have been, and where you are going. Second, it helps
the guild board members tailor speakers and lectures that
meet the needs of our diverse membership.
We would love to know you!
