Welcome to PPGCS
What is the Professional Photographers Guild
of Colorado Springs?
The Professional Photographers Guild of Colorado
Springs is a group of dedicated professional photographers,
plus SUSTAINERS of the photographic industry (labs, suppliers,
sales and technical reps, manufacturers, and modeling agencies),
who meet on a regular monthly basis.
We believe that education is the key to the
door of advancement, and we are committed to learning all
we can about our profession of photography. We stride to
educate the public and our clients - as to the true professional
quality of photographic art we produce.
We can do more to help ourselves by helping
others. We view eachother as colleagues, not as competitors.
Our opportunities expand as our membership increases. More
good is accomplished for ourselves, our clients and our
profession when we work together - as a team. We are able
to pool our assets and share our combined knowledge of photography.
When you join the Professional Photographers
Guild of Colorado Springs, you become one of an elite group
of professional and amateur photographers who belong to
the largest photographers' guild in the state of Colorado.
We are affiliated with The Professional Photographers of
America (PP of A) and follow their bylaws, adhere to their
strict Code
of Ethics, and are accorded all benefits and advantages
that come with this affiliation... advancing. And that advancing
photographer will not be overrun by the rest.

We Believe...
-
That we can do more to help ourselves by helping
others.
-
We view each other as collegues - not as competition.
-
Our opportunities expand as our numbers increase.
-
More good is accomplished for ourselves, our clients
and our profession when we work together - as a team.

A message from the President, June,
2006
Wow, what good things are
happening for the first half of the year! The best
is yet to come
. We have several events happening
very soon. First is the PPColorado Pro-Share meeting
in south Denver on Sunday July 9th. Refer to www.PPColorado.com
for registration information. You have your choice
of several top speakers. You get to pick your top
2 topics and speakers. Next, is our very own PPGCS
meeting on July 20th, that is an extended meeting.
The guest speaker is Kent Shirley, and the topic is
intermediate to advanced Photoshop tips and tricks.
I met Kent at the Imaging Workshops of Colorado, and
he is awesome. Just check out his bio for yourself.
This will be a longer meeting than usual, starting
at 4pm until 6pm, a dinner break, and then resuming
from 7pm until 9pm. Finally, we have our annual picnic
on Sunday July 30th. This is geared for family fun.
We will picnic at the home of Wilson Hitchings. Hot
Dogs, Burgers and Sodas will be provided. Please bring
your favorite summer dish to share. You may also bring
stronger libations for personal consumption. (Bring
your own beer!) Our meetings are not slowing down
as summer progresses. The August meeting will be a
panel from SCORE. Watch you newsletters from more
details.
Looking forward to seeing you all a
lot this month. Keep busy!
PPGCS President,
Pat Moore, Cr.Photog., PPA Certified
