Understanding How To Set Your Pricing

April 1, 2019

Guild members struggling to understand how to set their pricing to be profitable got help this past month through an all day workshop led by Guild board members  Lindsay Betz and Tim Skrastins. The workshop was a deep dive into how to set pricing according to PPA's benchmarks.  PPA also offer a handy tool called SquareOne   which helps a photographer grasp just how many sessions and at what price average they need to make the desired amount of income.

Once workshop participants got a good grasp on pricing they then began the process of assembling a price list. Part of this process included  understanding which products might be a good fit for their particular business. The goal was to have the attendees be able to walk away with a finished price list that included products and services designed to match their business with pricing for them to remain profitable.

Each year the Guild endeavors to help area photographers grow in their understanding of business as well as photography skills. We do this through monthly meetings, field trips and workshops.
